the roots of all goodness lie in the soil of appreciation for goodness. - dalai lama
I just finished writing two reports for projects that have left me incredibly inspired!
Off Season Art Gardening was a part-time temp job – this for sure was a dream! I was hired as the project leader and my responsibilities included developing an artist criteria, managing an artist call, establishing a jury, conceptualizing the brand, working with the three artists that were selected, curating online content, and marketing and promoting this art and gardening pilot project. I could not have even dreamed of an opportunity like this here in #mymariestad! And even though my part of the project has come to end I am incredibly tacksam for the opportunity I was offered to work with Mariestad’s Kommun because of the overall experience, the people I have connected with and the new partnerships that are just developing!
Kultur Skordefest was a kreativ collab project –for this project I was hired as the event coordinator and my responsibilities included event planning, web design, instagram management, marketing, developing new partners, communicating in Swedish or Swenglish and a lot of administrative duties ( I mean A LOT). This project was incredibly important for me because The festival is one of the reasons why I began to see Mariestad in a different light, so needless to say this project was important for me professionally and personally. My first experience with Mariestad’s Kultur & Skördfest was in 2013 there were several food vendors and lots of art and harvest events – I was very impressed with this event! This project was incredibly stressful and exciting at the same time.
As we approach the holiday season and I am incredibly grateful that I am officially done with them both and excited about how each of these projects prepared me for what’s to come in 2019!
Now it is time to get ready for Thanksgiving and though we don’t officially celebrate in Sweden it is an official holiday for Kreativ Collabs! Thanksgiving is without a doubt one of my favorite holidays because the focus is family, food, abundance (but not for material things) + gratitude!
This year is the 4th year that we are celebrating and preparing a dinner for 10! The 1st year there were 5 of us, the 2nd year there were 6 of us and last year there were 2 of us so I did a test kitchen! Preparing a dinner for 10 is a bit overwhelming, but the key is to keep it simple so everything from the food to the décor is done with a minimal mindset!
Happy Turkey Day from Mariestad!!!
